If parts of the exam are passed on different dates, the six-month limit applies to the earliest date.
Yes. We recommend that you take both courses before you sit for your state exam in order to be the most prepared. You will also be able to receive your license shortly after you pass the exam, since you won’t have to wait until you complete the other 30-hour course.
No. You can take the Kansas Practice Course either before or after you take the state exam. However, you must successfully complete the 30-hour Principles of Real Estate Course before you can sit for the Kansas exam.
All applicants for a real estate license are required to be fingerprinted for a Kansas and federal criminal history background check. In addition, you must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Yes, once you complete a course online you will be provided with your certificate of completion.

The 2 e-books included are Principles of Real Estate and the Real Estate Math Handbook. Principles of Real Estate Practice is a modern learning tool for the student preparing to enter the real estate business as a licensed professional. It contains the essentials of real estate law, principles, and practices taught in real estate schools and colleges across the country, including all those fundamentals that real estate educators, practicing professionals, national testing services, and state licensing officials agree are necessary for basic competence. Principles of Real Estate Practice is tailored to the needs of the pre-license student. It is designed to: make it easy for students to learn the material; prepare students for numerous career applications; stress practical rather than theoretical, skills and knowledge. The Real Estate Math Handbook gives solutions to the most common math problems faced by real estate professionals.
After you purchased your course you will receive an email with a link and access token to register yourself. To log back in, visit this page and use your email address and password you set up.
If you change your name, you must report it to the Kansas Real Estate Commission with 10 days. You should also change your address or other contact information via the REL-100 form within 10 days.
In order to renew your real estate salesperson license, you must complete 12 hours of continuing education each renewal period. Of these 12 hours, three must be part of the course. An exception is made for all new salespeople who receive their first license within five months of the renewal date.
Once you meet your educational requirements, you are eligible to apply for your license 45 days ahead of the deadline. Your education should be sent to the commission from the school, and you will be able to fill out the necessary forms online.
You can renew an inactive license in Kansas to reinstate your career as a real estate agent. You will need to demonstrate proof that you have completed the necessary continuing education to renew your license. If you have questions about the process, you can contact the Kansas Real Estate Commission.
